Brooklyn! :)

So Brooklyn has finally decided to talk more and it is so cute. She loves to say "bankie" for blankie, "mikey" for uncle Mike, "bapa" or "bamba" for grandpa. It is alot of fun she will also say please, thank you, done, down , eat, drink, and night night to name a few!! Brooklyn still loves to climb into and hide in the cupboards. She no longer likes to sit in a highchair or a booster seat she prefers to sit right up at the table like everyone else! :)She loves to carry around dolls and play with trains! She is very excited about all of the Christmas lights though when she saw Santa she was excited at first and ran over towards him and then when she got close she turned around and rant he other way. She also cried and reached out for her daddy when we tried to get her to sit on Santa's lap! her favorite food is probably yogurt and cheeseburgers.Her favorite treat is anything sweet just like her dad and her mom!! She also pretty much likes to do or have whatever her big sister lily has or is doing! In the end I think Brooklyn's favorite words are "no mine" She is fun and I am enjoying watching her and Lily grow up!!

Festival of trees!

So this year Paul, Lily, Brooklyn and my in laws all got to go to the festival of trees together. It was pretty packed which is a good thing since it raises money for a worthy charity the Primary Children's medical center. As always they had some amazing and beautiful trees. In the smaller trees lily loved the princess ones though Paul enjoyed a Christmas orange one and I really just enjoyed all of them. In the bigger tree category there were some amazing ones like an all star wars one and some very pretty red ones in favor of the Utes!! There were also some bear ones and john Deere ones and some Grinch ones, which Lily absolutely loved!It was a very enjoyable time and Brooklyn got so tuckered out that she fell asleep! I highly recommend that all of you who didn't get to check it out this year check it out next year!

Thanksgiving!

So this thanksgiving year was a mix of work and relaxation for me! I worked in the morning to early afternoon and then relaxed the rest of the day~! Thanksgiving was great and I am definitely grateful for many things:
My supportive loving husband
My adorable yet crazy kids
My job that helps pay the bills
My house even though its pretty messy right now
My family and all of their support
The gospel as it is my saving grace!!
There are many other things I am grateful but these are the highlights! I am also grateful for all of the amazing cooking that the other women did on Thanksgiving day! Thank you so much it was very yummy!

Halloween!!

This year my kids got their costumes from my mom. Lily got a pretty blue velvet dress to be a princess and Brooklyn got a lady bug outfit and a ballerina costume which she got to wear both. Lily wore her dress many times as she thought is was beautiful and Brooklyn even got to wear both as they went to a party at my work and she wore the ballerina one and Halloween night due to colder weather she wore the lady bug one. I am biased though because I think she looked really cute in both of them. Lily was ecstatic this year as she got a Halloween party at school, the one at my work and the real Halloween. She loved trick or treating especially since she got to go with her cousins Kelsie, Kaden, Mckenna , and Kyler. Brooklyn was just excited once she realized it was candy that she was getting in her bag and then she proceeded to eat some as she was finishing her trick or treating.! It was a very nice Halloween and I am glad that my girls enjoyed it!

In memory...

Of a great man Robert Douglas Teran. who left this world on September 26th, 2009. He will be missed by many but will live on in our hearts and memories. i only got about six and half years as his granddaughter in law but they were very good years and he treated me as if I had always been in his family not just married into it! My favorite memories of grandpa were our visits down to st. George. The one that sticks with me the most is the first one we made after Brooklyn was born. it was so much fun and we were just able to relax and visit and grandpa was just so cute with the girls! We love you grandpa and we know that you are causing laughing riots up in heaven!

Seattle!!

So this was my second time in Washington but it was my first time to see Seattle!! I really enjoyed it there is alot of things to see there and to do Paul and i only got to a fraction of it! We saw the Space needle though this time did not go up it! we also saw Pikes market and we went to the children's museum which was Lily's favorite part I think besides the Aquarium!Which by the way is pretty cool as they have sea otters and seals! Paul and I enjoyed it so much that we have already talked about going back in a year or two and doing a week just in Seattle!

Leavenworth Germany, no wait Washington!

So Leavenworth is this quaint little town in Washington that is modeled after Germany/Austria. it is about two and a half hours from where my sister lives. So one day Paul and i drove up there with the girls so we could experience this little town. It is a pretty drive up there and the views in the town are amazing!!The girls enjoyed walking around the town and going into the little shops they had. one of their favorite shops was this little hat shop that we went into. the girls loved trying on different hats, glasses, and masks. This is one of the ones that Lily found that when she walked around to show her dad and me we just started cracking up laughing. it was a lot of fun. We also got to see an organ grinder with his little stuffed monkey. He was dressed authentically and this little organ was authentic and very cool. Lily and Brooklyn were dancing to the music! It was a fun and nice day though all of us were definitely exhausted by the time we made it back. Here are some pictures as well as video!

Washington!!

So Paul and I have finally made it to vacation time this year! which if you can guess from the title of this post our vacation is in Washington this year to visit my sister and her family. We made it just fine and the girls actually did really well for it being a ten hour car drive. the only thing that Paul and I forgot to back of course was our camera! :( Luckily my sister let us use hers for part of the time and Paul and I went and bought a video camera as well. One of the first things that we did when we got here was take the girls to the playground of dreams at the Columbia trail park. This park is beautiful it is large and follows the river so you get beautiful views of the water and there are several open areas of grass, a public golf course, and several smaller playgrounds as well as a memorial for veterans! Whew! that is alot to list but even more to try and see or do in a park in one day!

The second day we went to church which was a regional broadcast from Salt lake. the chapel is right next to the temple though. So we took the girls for a walk around the grounds. Lily's favorite part was the waterfall that is in front of the temple. it was a beautiful day though Paul and I only got to watch half of the broadcast as both of our girls became very crabby and very loud! Who can really blame them since they were recovering from the car ride the day before!:)

Though my favorite part so far is just getting to relax and enjoy visiting with my sister and her family and seeing the sites of Washington. Lily's favorite part has been playing with her cousin Duncan. While Brooklyn's favorite thing has been to chase my sisters cats around the house and pointing at them going "OOH" or "AHH" It has been quite amusing to watch her excitement about the cats! I Have to say that I think Paul's favorite thing has been all of the naps that he has taken :)

Camping!!!

So this post is a little late coming but it made it on finally!! What I am referring to is our family camping trip over the 24th of July!! We went up to Wasatch Mt.State Park along with the Kinikini klan and the Teran Klan. it was a lot of fun and we got pretty nice weather. Though Paul did rip our tent the first day while putting it up, though it was along the stitching so it can be fixed.The girls loved it they loved being able to run around outside and just dig and play int he dirt though Brooklyn really never got the point to not go in the road where cars would drive around the camp sites!The girls also got to got to Deer Creek for a day of swimming. Brooklyn went right for the water while Lily went straight out of the water!!:) Brooklyn is definitely my water bug and holds no fear just stubbornness for you trying to help her!:)She even liked the small creek by the campsite that she sat straight down in with all her clothes on!!

Though we did discover that Lily likes devices that make her float as she feels safer when she floats or sos she says!!

Here are a few more pictures of the fun!!

St. George and the Fourth

This Fourth of July Paul and I were able to go down to St.George and visit with our grandparents. It was a very good weekend. Paul and I got to celebrate our niece's third birthday with swimming and a party on Saturday. The swimming was a favorite of everyone especially Brooklyn she loved the water and tried to get in by herself. I enjoyed getting to visit with Grandpa and Grandma Teran. It was fun to get to have them see how the girls have grown and interact with one another. That night we went and saw fireworks at the park by the college. Lily loved the colors and sparkles of the fireworks but didn't really like how loud they were. Brooklyn though really enjoyed them she was chilling side by side with her dad. The fourth was a fun filled day. On Sunday we took the girls to the St. George Temple Visitor's Center and grounds. Brooklyn just enjoyed being outside and Lily enjoyed all of the flowers and she liked the water fountain as well. We were also able to go and take a tour of the Brigham Young winter home. I had never really seen it except the outside. it was pretty interesting I enjoyed taking the tour and next time we go down we are going to see another pioneer home. Here are some pictures from our visit though.

Brooklyn!!

So I just have to blog about this cute little girl. she is so funny and stubborn!! She won't use sign language or words to say what she wants instead she points and makes noise or screams depending on how urgent she wants it. though sometimes when she is hungry she will just lift up her shirt and point or look down at her tummy :) she is very funny. She also likes to try and do everything that her big sis does. which is not always a good thing. She likes to try to climb everything and anything. She did figure out how to climb the ladder on the bunk bed so it is now down. She tried to climb out of her crib but her legs are so small that she just slips and can't get he leverage to pull herself up, but oh does she try hard. She also loves to carry around little stuffed animals or babies. She smiles at them and gives them hugs. Another thing that she likes to do is sit down with a book look at a few pages and then throw it down! Here are some pictures of one of her other favorite items to do she loves to get into little holes, cubbies, cabinets and sit there and look out or just play. Though she really just likes to throw things as she does that when she is done eating she will start to throw her food off the table! There always seems to be a mess following this little girl!! Oh but the best is when she throws a tantrum she throws herself down on the floor juts out her lower lip pushes herself backward while making noises!! I have yet to catch her doing this on video as every time I grab the camera to get it she sees the camera and promptly stops doing it!! Oh the personality!! Truly though I just laugh and smile most of the time, though every so often I just want to pull at my hair!! Oh I look forward to seeing her grow up!!

Father's Day!!

Wow another Father's Day gone by and my hubby can still tune into being a big kid himself!! But I wouldn't have it any other way! I love to watch Paul play and have fun with the girls!! They are definitely both Daddy's girls. I keep teasing him about what he is going to do when they are of dating age! :) Though he has wisely decided to just enjoy the ages they are!! So for father's day it was pretty low key Lily gave her dad two cards and a bow tie made out of an M&M bag it was cute and Paul even wore it in sacrament meeting. I got him A DVD and am getting him and my father in law some tickets for a Real Salt Lake game or a Bees game!! Here are to all the great men in my life that have been and continue to be great examples to me and now my children!! Love you all! Happy Father's Day!!!

Wheeler Farm!!

so i only got to see to see the pictures and hear Lily's retelling of going to wheeler farm but the pictures sure are cute as was Lily's story!! Grandma and grandpa took all their grandchildren i know amazing and crazy at the same time that they had all six of them and survived to tell the tale!:) By the way thank you for taking the girls that had a blast! anyways Lily was excited about it she told me all about how she got to have a picnic and that she played in water which is really a little stream. She also told me about how she got to see several animals like a cow and ducks and pigs. She was telling me that there was a duck standing on some cow poo :0 Then she proceeded to laugh !! OH but here are some of the pictures that they were able to get!! I think I will have to take the girls over again some time as well as taking them to the zoo!!

Paul is still working fifty hours a week and my schedule is changing weekly as other supervisors are out of town and i cover for them. we are still loving life though and I love to watch the girls grow and play. brooklyn is so cute right now and she loves to dance to music. You also can't get her to stop walking all over the place she also likes to try to do what her sister Lily does which is not always a good thing! :) Here are to some summer adventures !!

Six years and counting.....

Paul and I just celebrated six years of marriage on the 21st of May. I can't believe that six years has already passed by.. some days it seems like it hasn't been long at all but other days it does seem like the six years. I have enjoyed my first six years of marriage and all of the experiences that it has come with I love you honey and I love what a great husband and father you are!. I look forward to many more years with you honey and I look forward to seeing our family grow

Lily's party!!

Yesterday was Lily's birthday party. her party was a pool and pizza party at my work. It was a success as Lily put it she also said it was cool and fun!Her friends all seemed to concur as they ran around and giggled and laughed :) I thought it was nice to just enjoy the party and swim and eat with the kids. Oh I have not seen Lily enjoy the water so much as she did yesterday it was nice to see her let lose and just enjoy the day. It was also alot of fun because Lily remembered it was her party and was so excited about turning four. She has been telling everyone that she sees that she is a big girl and that she is four!! She was opening one of her presents which had a notebook in it and she lifted it out and said " Oh that 's pretty it is for my purse!" It was just so cute. She says funny things all of the time she was excited about her gifts and she even remembered to say "Thank You" to everyone this year! Here is to the next year of Lily growing and learning and being her fun silly self!!

Busy May

So this month has flown bye and I can't believe it is almost over!! So at the beginning of the month I had a good mother's day. It was a relaxing one that I just got to enjoy it and not have to do anything. I was also very busy with work and Paul and I got in a new sink in our condo and we are finally able to to start the painting!!Here is a picture of the old sink and then the new sink.

On memorial day weekend we went camping down near Price in a cousin's cabin. It was alot of fun even with the rain :) I got to read and I got to play games. I also learned how to make a necklace and a bracelet which has amazed my friends when they have seen them and asked where I bought them. well it has been fun to see their reactions when I tell them that I made them!! Lily stayed on Monday with Paul's parents and got to play outside all day with them she looked like she had a lot of fun on the zip line and just climbing I am glad that she got to stay and experience the fun outside stuff that the cabin had to offer!! Here are some pictures enjoy!!

Easter

This year Easter was pretty low key we got the girls new dresses and a new movie each. So they woke up to see that. Then later that day we went to my in-laws and had an Easter egg hunt for them it was just Brooklyn and Lily this year tat he house as the Kinikini's were in St. George. Lily had a blast though she was so excited about the eggs. Brooklyn liked the eggs though she was happy once she had one until she figured out there was candy in them, then she wanted more eggs for the candy. It was pretty funny. It was a good day and at the end we talked with Lily about what we remember on Easter day, The Lord's atonement for us. I hope everyone else had a good Easter.

Promotion!

So I have to say that in these difficult times I feel very blessed to have my job especially because I just received a promotion to Supervisor at my job in the Life Cafe. I had my last day at the child center this week which is bittersweet. i will really miss the kids that I have watched and played with for two years as well a s the teachers. I am grateful for the experiences that the child center provided me but I am grateful for the opportunity to be a supervisor and show that I can excel at it.

Brooklyn's first steps!

So early last week Brooklyn took her first steps. she started out by realizing she could stand up on her own without holding anything and she spent about twenty minutes just going up and down. I tried to find my camera to get a video but I didn't find it until after she was done. After that though she ended up taking two steps towards her dad. Since then she has done it few other times but the most steps she has taken is about two. It is just fun that she is starting :0 While she has been working at this she has also gotten better at climbing. last Tuesday or Wednesday I got home from work and Paul told me that Brooklyn had climbed up the ladder on the bunk bed and had made it to the top bed and was playing on it :0 I couldn't believe it she is definitely a climber she also climbs up into the walker at her grandma and grandpa Teran's. She is trying to figure out how to climb up other things as well or climb out of them what ever the case may be! I believe she is definitely going to be keeping my on my toes! She is so much fun and I love her.

Updates!!

So if you haven't noticed it has been awhile since I have been on here. I have been working alot and when I have not been working Paul and I have been packing up items in our house, as we are trying to get it ready to put it up for sale! At work everything is going pretty well for me I just received a promotion at the cafe I am now a supervisor. I enjoy it I am the night supervisor so it is hard sometimes but it is good to know that they value my work.
Also as I said Paul and I have been packing up items from our condo and been taking them over to the in-laws. Paul and I are hoping to have everything packed up and out by another week or two and get the painting done and have it officially up for sale!
These are the main things that have been going on in my life. I am looking forward to Easter this week. It should be a nice day!

Let's go fly a Kite!!!!!

So Lily got and flew her first Kite of spring and it lasted all of about 30 minutes before it got stuck up in Grandpa's tree. She had fun though she got to pick her kite out at the dollar store with Grandma Teran she picked out a Dora kite and she was very excited to tell me that she had flown it but then she told that it had gotten stuck in the tree "the kite eating tree" as Grandma Teran put it. Here are some pictures though.

Paul and I figure we will go and buy her another one soon and hopefully this one will last longer than a half Hour :) But it is official that she has flown the first kite of spring!!

Spring

Well I am definitely ready for spring and spring cleaning. Paul and I have started to clean and declutter our home so right now it is a mess but soon it will be nice and clean and decluttered. We also went and bought some flowers this past weekend and planted them in our garden. I will take some pictures and get them posted. This is what I wish my garden looked like but we don't quite have this many flowers. I have to say that my favorite thing about spring is the warmer weather and the colors of the blooming flowers it is beautiful to see the brown and gold turn into green and vibrant colors of the flowers.  What do you like about spring?

Spiritually Uplifted!!

So I had two experiences this week that uplifted and strengthened me. The first experience was that I was able to go to the Draper Temple Open house with my family. It was amazing I wish I could accurately describe the emotions that I saw Lily experience it was very humbling to watch her face look at the pictures of Jesus and to see her face as we entered the sealing room and celestial room. She loved the "sparkly lights" that were throughout these two rooms.Lily also was very excited because she got to see Grandpa Teran at the temple as he was an usher the night that we went.

I was very grateful to be reminded of the blessings that I have through the gospel and covenants I made in the Temple. I am especially grateful to know that I can have an eternal family. This reminder was very strong as i had my second spiritual experience of the week on Saturday as I attended Larry Miller's funeral. Larry is my second cousin as his mom is my great Aunt and my dad's Aunt. I believe I have that right, anyway I attended the private as well as the public portion of his funeral. My testimony was strengthened about how much one person can do for the cause of good things. Larry was a very good man who did many good and great things at the service I had the chance to hear from President Monson and from Elder Ballard. Their tributes and talks were amazing and they just reminded all of us that we can do better and that we can all do things to help others. I also had the privilege of shaking President Monson's hand he is an amazing person and has an amazing spirit. he shared poem called "the bridge builder" that Larry had made into a beautiful statue and gave one to each of his children as well as President Monson. President Monson said the statue sits in his office and he has all visitors sit and read it. Here is the poem

The Bridge Builder

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came at the evening, cold and gray,
To chasm, vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim;
The sullen stream had no fears for him;
But he turned when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.
"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim near,
"You are wasting strength with building here;
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way;
You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide --
Why build you the bridge at the eventide?"

The builder lifted his old gray head:
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pit-fall be,
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."

Will Allen Dromgoole

I will just end with saying I know we have prophet of God and that we have the blessings of an eternal family available to us. I hope all of us will strive to remember those who will come behind us and build our own bridges to help others like in this poem and like Larry did for so many in Utah as well as for the state of Utah.

Uncoventional Valentines Day

So Paul and I definitely did not do or have a normal Valentines Day! I stayed at home in the morning and did a bunch of laundry and cleaned my house which made me very happy. while I was doing this Paul was at our friend's house working on car that has had a few problems lately. Through the past month he has changed the strut on the drivers side, and then the bearing and hub on the drivers side as well. He finished up with replacing the bearings and hub on the passengers side. He know has the strut left on the passengers side to do but we are waiting for warmer weather and some time to save money for the rest of the parts to do this change. Anyways that night when he got home I got to go to work until 8:00 and then we picked up my grandma and went to eat out at Olympus Burgers. it is was some good food.In the end although my Valentines was not a traditional one I enjoyed it. Besides Paul and I figure we will do an actual date some other time maybe this Saturday!! Oh I did get a very good gift I got a box of chocolate covered strawberries from Edible Arrangements!!
Very Very Yummy!! Thanks Honey I love you!!

Brooklyn's Surgery

So for those of you who don't know Brooklyn had to have surgery for an inguinal hernia. She had it about two and a half weeks ago. The surgery went well and she recovered fairly quickly though about two days later she caught a virus and was sick for the next week and now she has been teething and has a slight cold. She just can't seem to catch a break, though she is a trooper most of the time you can't even tell she is sick except for when she starts to get tired or hungry :) The day of the surgery Lily was really cute she was very worried for Brooklyn and when they took her back to do the surgery Lily asked us why we were letting him(the Dr.) take Brooklyn because Brooklyn was our baby and no one elses so he couldn't take her. We explained that the Dr. was going to take her and make her better and then we would get her back. That calmed Lily down and then she was okay. The other update on Brooklyn is that she is a happy and curious baby. she loves to take things or items out of the container or basket etc. and then put them back in. She loves to follow me or Paul around and gets sad if we don't pay attention to her when we pass her:) She is not walking on her own yet though! Which is nice because it is alittle easier to watch her with crawling:)

Bugged!!

So I have been tagged by my friend Candace about ten things that bug me! So here they are

1. I do not like when your driving and people wait till the end to get over to the exit lane or turn lane and cut you off to do it. Be courteous!!

2. It bugs me when people give me that look when I am at the store with my girls and they are being loud or throwing a tantrum and I am trying to get them to calm down but the look says wow you need to control your kids I am doing the best that I can!!

3. It drives me crazy at work when I am having to work with one of the high school kids in the cafe and they just stand there and talk to their friends or just stand there and watch while you are cleaning and serving the customers. you are not getting paid to do nothing!

4. It bugs me when people cut into a line any line when you have been waiting and being courteous but they had a friend save their spot for them while they were doing something else.

5. What really bugs me is people not using their blinker lights at all and just switching lanes or turning and cutting you off to do it while ignoring the fact that you have your blinker light on to come over or to turn.

6. I also get bugged when I am talking to Paul trying to share my opinion and he will be like no but or that's not right. Just let me share my opinion!! :)

7. I hate when at the last minute people ask me to cover their shift at one of my jobs and I do it because of needing hours but when I try to get the favor returned they can't do it!!

8. It bugs me when people will see me with my two girls and will come over and say oh they are so cute you must be done having kids. I appreciate the compliment of my girls being cute but not the assumption that I am done having kids because I have two.

9. It bugs me that I don't seem to have enough time in the day to do everything that I want to do.

Well I was suppose to do ten of these but for now these are the only things that I can think of that bug me. I am going to tag Marlene, Missy, Dedra, Michelle, and Megan.

So What's Up?!

Well for me it is work that is up the only days lately that I have been home are Sundays though two of the past four Sundays I have had to work which was not alot of fun. My other break from work came from the Scrapbook Charity Crop that I went to hosted by my Sister In-law Marlene and my friend Missy. It was so much fun and it was great to be with friends and family and try to catch up on my scrap booking from last year. I am proud to say I finished thirty pages and am now at least half done through Brooklyn's first year album :). Marlene and Missy you are amazing to me with the things that you can do and accomplish the crop was great and thanks for the items I got to take home for free even if my luck at the raffle wasn't great, I at least got the free items to take home so I didn't feel left out. Besides work life is good my girls definitely keep me busy like today I took a nap and when I woke up my girls room was a disaster they had taken every toy out and about half their books and all of the blankets and blanketed their room. I wish I would have taken a picture though I am sure it will happen again so next time I will take a picture. though I do have to say that Lily was really good about helping me clean it up!

Brooklyn is 1 years old!!!!

Well technically she is one years old as of tomorrow the 12th of January!!! I can't believe one year has already gone by. Though in alot of ways she is still a baby to me, especially because she is so petite :) Well tonight we celebrated with my in-laws and Brooklyn loved the birthday cake. She dug right into it and ate every last morsel she even tried to lick the bowl.

It was very funny. She opened her first present and then she wasn't interested in opening her other gifts as she just wanted to play with the first one she opened. she received a new dress, a fisher price piggy bank that helps you learn your numbers, and a little people princess coach.

It was a nice and intimate first birthday party for her with good memories. I am glad that before my parents left that we celebrated her birthday as well :) My hopes for Brooklyn this year is that she will continue to be happy and healthy. I also hope that she will continue to explore the world around her and learn new things like walking and talking and feeding herself with a spoon. In the end I just hope she is happy :)
