Amateur Photographer

Lily has become very interested in taking pictures in the past few weeks. Every time at our house she sees the camera she will pick it up and take some pictures. Sometimes she actually takes a pretty good picture other times she is a little off on the subject she is trying to capture but here are a few of the pictures she has taken some of the good and some of the bad. Because of her interest in taking pictures Paul and I have given her our old digital camera to practice with.

Just some thoughts

Well I have just been thinking about alot of things this week ever since Paul and I went to Karson's mother's funeral. At her funeral her friend read excerpts from her journal and I thought to myself tath I don't have a traditional jouranl to record thoughts and felings in but I do have my scrapbooks and now this blog to record thoughts and feelings in. Those two things are really my journals. Which I am glad to have these venues to share things from my family's life in. I was also thinking that I am grateful to live by all of Paul's family since mine are spread out. As I have been reflecting on the week I thought how great it was to end on Kelsies baptism. It was wonderful to watch her become a member of the church and to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. It was a reminder of how great it is to be a member of the church and to have the gospel in my life. At the baptism Lily reminded me of how innocent children are and can be. When I told her that Kelsie was going to receive the Holy Ghost she walked over to her Uncle Mike and to her daddy and told them that she had to catch the ghost before it got Kelsie because it was a scary ghost. So then Sherilyn and her dad told her that the Holy Ghost is good so she said okay and then asked her dad if she could get baptised now too. It was very cute and funny. I am grateful to have Lily at our house and to have the spirit that she brings into our home. Those were just some of my thoughts that I had this week. I hope that I didn't ramble on too much!!

Easter

It was a good day. Lily woke up in the morning and beat us downstairs and opened her Easter eggs before we got there to take pictures she then was very excited to show Brooklyn everything that was in both Easter baskets. Then when we got to Grandma and Grandpa's she was so excited for the Easter egg she whacked herself in the head with her Easter basket and gave herself a cut and a bruise on her forehead. Though she recovered fast enough to be fine for the egg hunt. It was alot of fun to watch her get the eggs, she was excited every time she found one. She was most excited about when she found an egg and opened it and found that it had a dollar bill inside of it. Then later in the evening we were celebrating Rachel's birthday(my soon to be sister in law) and Lily decided to help her blow out her candles. It was a good day but I was tired at the end of it just to think by next Easter Brooklyn will be one and we will have a new niece or nephew. Well Happy Easter!

The Gardener

On Tuesday morning I got up and went to go get Lily out of her room and when I opened the door she was wearing this purse around her neck and the hat on her head and said to me that she was ready to do some gardening. She then proceeded to go downstairs and jump on the couch and she sang a song about how she was going to go gardening. It was very funny and she kept me and Brooklyn very entertained. Later that day she did her gardening on the couch.

What a great day!

This is a great title for today because alot of good things happened today. Our Uncle Dwayne was set apart as a bishop this morning to start out the day and then in the afternoon Brooklyn was blessed. Brooklyn's blessing was very nice and her dad did a wonderful job. I was glad that we could share our joy of this event with family and friends. I am also grateful that Paul's dad, brother Alex, and brother-in-law, Karson were able to join him in the circle. The good day did not stop there because our family and friends joined us afterwards at Paul's parents for food, conversation, and games. As we were heading to the celebration I found out that my twin Chandra had her baby today at 3:53 Texas time. She had a baby boy, 8lbs 2oz, with a head full of curly black hair or so I was told. As soon as I get pictures I will post them. Enjoy these pictures from todays festivities though can you tell in the first one that neither girl really wants to be taking a picture?!

Lily and Brooklyn

What can I Say about my girls? Well for one thing they sure keep me busy. If I am not feeding or playing with Brooklyn then I am playing with or cleaning up a mess that Lily has made. I love being a mom though. I especially love to watch how my girls continually change and grow. I can't beleive Brooklynn is already getting blessed tommorow. I also think it is crazy that Lily will soon be three. I love watching Lily learn. My favorite thing that Lily does is that she likes to make up songs. Like today we were at Grandma's house preparing some stuff for the blessing tommorow and Lily wanted to watch a show. We told her no she went to the piano started playing and singing a song about when she asks to watch a show it needs to be put on so she can watch it. It was really funny listening to her. She is a character.
